NVIDIA has launched RTX Video HDR technology, which can turn standard dynamic range (SDR) videos into high dynamic range (HDR). The technology uses the power of NVIDIA’s Tensor cores to enhance SDR videos, adding vivid colors and preserving intricate details. The technology works on top of the upscaling feature, increasing the resolution and clarity of videos. The RTX Video HDR feature can be applied in real-time through NVIDIA’s RTX Video Upscaling technology, and it can be used on HDR monitors or in Internet browsers such as Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge. The technology is not compatible with NVIDIA’s GTX series. In order to enable RTX Video HDR and Video Super Resolution on an HDR10-compatible display, users need to download and install the newest Game Ready or Studio Ready driver and enable Windows’ HDR features.
